Pro Studio 9.6 - The best I have ever heard regarding these tapes and these tracks...some of which have been around but not in my memory have all of them been so diligently compiled. Audience 9.1 - Lovely, well done recording that does have one or two "wobbles" where the tape might have stretched or something (only caught it once) but a minor deal really. It's a warm sound, and has a lot of headroom which is essential and a big benefit if you want to add your own EQ settings. Lots to enjoy here, I recommend this wholeheartedly. Audience 9.0 - A SOLID, and I mean very good tape. The high end rings out nicely, drums have a nice real sound to them, and all instruments are heard clearly. The venue has good acoustics, so that helps a lot, it really allows for the immersive experience without being painful on the ear drums. This is one to get. Audience 8.9 - A touch distant maybe, but otherwise this is a good, clear recording. You don't really see this one being reissued much, which is strange to me because it's a great show. Audience 8.9 - A pretty good tape, the mix is very good, with good clear guitar and bass sitting just right, alongside the drums complimenting each other and not fighting for bandwidth at all. Vocals sit about all of it where they should be - all in all I like this one a lot. Ghost Göransson Arena Sandviken, Sweden 2025-05-23 Disc 1 01. Peacefield 02. Lachryma 03. Spirit 04. Audience 8.8 - A recording where the audience does get some attention but not in an obnoxious way, just in an enthusiastic way which sometimes adds to the excitement...but for some it might be a distraction. I didn't mind it, there really wasn't a particular audience member who yelled stupidly right into the mic. Thankfully the band is pretty reasonably clear, most of the time. I think there is room in your collection for this one, which won't be the best Animals show, but it certainly won't be the worst. Audience 8.6 - Starts off a bit dodgy but gets better. Vocals are up front in the mix but still "round" and by that I mean not clearly defined to where you can make out the words. Drums are probably the clearest instrument in this recording and they propel the music forward with gusto. Guitars are raucous and as dirty as you want them, and the overall recording is a bit dirty too coming from the crowd where you get a great sense of being there with them. This is a recording that is worth sticking with because by the third or fourth song in you can really start to appreciate it because it does seem as though everything gets just a little bit clearer and more distinct (you can really tell during Over The Top). SDBRD 9.5 - both of these gigs are spectacular, for me they represent an all too brief high water mark for the band where things are unbelievably tight and incomprehensibly cosmic. If more people knew of this music's existence, this band's old catalog would go platinum today. GONG Europe 1975 Disc 1 La Celle St. Cloud Festival France June 8, 1975 1. Master Builder 10:18 2. RCMH - Audience 8.9 - A nice atmosphere, even though it is a large hall there is a charming warmth here. Natalie's vocals carry very well, she is prominent in the mix. There is some background audience chatter occasionally that adds an element of immediacy without being a distraction. I don't usually condone chatter near the taper but the taper has done a great job with this "immersive" situation and I rather like it. Pier 84 - Audience 9.1/SDBRD 9.3 - Very similar to the RCMH show but more clarity in the high end, and slightly better separation of instruments. This is a VERY good recording that will provide many enjoyable moments for the listener. Then after the 1st song it switches to soundboard source (radio broadcast I believe) and it is good, solid, punchy, but not quite as atmospheric as the previous source which was really quite good too. 10,000 Maniacs New York Maniacs 88-89 Disc 1 Radio City Music Hall New York City, NY. 06-29-1989 1. Audience 9.4 - A smooth and comfortable sound, obviously taper running great mics and in a relatively decent position. The mix favors vocals and there's a great kick drum presence that propels the music. Guitars seem to hover overhead, not bombastic but rather more subdued but not absent by any means. Audience members are occasionally heard nearby, and that reminds you that you are hearing a stealth recording albeit one done with semi-pro gear. Audience 8.8 - A show new to circulation, it presents a severely under represented period of the band. Not too many tapes have surfaced (and no known videos) so whatever we can get, we appreciate. Here, taper did an admiral job even though he's clearly immersed in a boisterous audience. There is plenty of audience present, but thankfully what you get most of is a relatively clear and atmospheric ELO on a great night. There is a touch of overcrowding within the mid-range frequency, but nothing that distorts so there's zero muddiness and maybe less low end that you might prefer. Overall I have to say it fits nicely into my ELO collection right next to the one or two other 1981 shows (like I said, few and far between).Electric Light Orchestra Civic Center Hartford, Connecticut Time Tour 1981Disc 11. Audience 8.9 - what a show! Yes, you will get knocked around down in the pit with the fans, yes you will hear the sounds of incredibly excited fans, and yes, the will feel absolutely like you are right there. The thing is, when you realize someone went through a bit of trouble to do this it just makes such a difference as you listen and understand this is a live, frenzied atmosphere with a very loud rock and roll band right in front of you. Soundboard 9.7 - Amazing! Progressive rock played at a super high level infusing all kinds of rhythms and styles. Audience 8.7 - Sounds like 1977, very dated but it's a very clear tape. Doesn't stray too much into the low end of the sound pool, but neither is it a "thin to win" tape. It's a mid range sound, a good one, but kind of narrow in some regards, almost like a REALLY good AM radio sound. I like it nonetheless.Weather Report Kursaal Bern, Switzerland September 26, 19771. Audience 8.5 - A slighly better than average tape with a lot of live atmosphere, and I don't know how large this hall was but it doesn't feel very large in the recording. Everything is very clear and good separation of instruments too, it can use just a touch more dynamic but otherwise it's strong. Audience 8.7 - Better than average, the tape has dynamics to it and even if vocals sound somewhat distant, the bass and guitar have a nice attack with the low end having that chest pounding quality which adds a lot to the electrifying atmospherics. Rory is particularly savage, playing what is probably a really wild crowd since it is where he is from. The performance is worth the entrance fee, the sound quality is good enough to warrant extended engagement. Full disclosure: There is some tape hiss present although it only becomes obvious when the band is not playing.RORY GALLAGHER Rory's Stompin' Grounds National Stadium Dublin, Ireland December 28, 1978 Disc 1 1. Audience 9.5 - Recently re-mastered and never sounding better, this old tape is full of life. The sound is bold, and really the only things keeping it from being even higher on the ratings scale is just some minor dtuff. I sometimes hear tape slippage or squeal but it's barely noticeable and infrequent, and there are some other small issues that occasionally pop up but since the sound is so great you just don't even notice any flaws. Soundboard 9.7 - Crisp and absolutely clear with tremendous separation of instruments. I did not find this cold or sterile at all, I thought it was mixed so well that plenty of feeling and texture is within these sacred frequencies. Audience 9.0 - Great document! Live, exciting, forceful and driving. This is a great find! It does have the tell-tale audience tape feel but for how well the bass sounds because if it was done on cassette, it had to be a professional deck, so I am inclined to believe this was done on reel to reel. Recorded in 1977 by a group of musicians who brought different perspectives into the equation. Very much an English folk psyche type of record but features a lot of Eastern influence with the introduction of Sitar, and tablas (and other sounds), an ethereal vibe permeates as Moog synthesizers weave in and out of the music. Lots of heavy, mystical vibe on this one. -

Audience 8.7 - This is a good and reasonably clear (some tape hiss) recording which reminds me a lot of the Hamburg 1971 recording. I would not be surprised if this was done by the same guys. As a bonus, there is a third disc containing the film footage of Atom Heart Mother from this show. It should be playable on most players, this disc is formatted as a video disc (compact disc containing an MP4 file), if you have any problems please let us know. It should play fine on your computer, and most DVD machines will know what to do with it. -

2 Shows: CD 1 - Audience 8.3 - A very good, reasonably clear tape that does not showcase a wide dynamic range but doesn’t really need to, I mean to say, it’s an historic artifact that most fans and collectors of Love/Arthur Lee will be very happy to hear. CD 2 - Audience 8.1 - This tape starts off kind of rough but gradually gets better until it gets to a consistency that you can appreciate for what it is. It does not take much of the show before it gets better which is a relief because it is a good, strong show. Disc 3 is a video CD (MP4 file) of 6 minutes, very Rare, never before seen b/w video footage of Love a few days before the show on disc one. -

CD 1 - Audience 7.4 - Tape a little hissy, but since the highs are preserved we can live with that. It’s pretty clear at times, and then sometimes a touch cluttered up but overall the listener can appreciate this old tape for the explosive performance captured decently for the time. CD 2 - Audience 7.4 - A very powerful low end is the hallmark of this tape, and then there’s Robert, man this is his show! A good tape, a great performance. CD 3 Audience 7.3 - Unlike the other FE 69 recordings, this tape showcases Jimmy’s guitar, and of course Robert who probably would not even need a microphone he is so dynamic. This show he is literally just phenomenal sounding.

Audience 9.4 - What a fantastic recording! Seriously, the louder you crank it, the better it sounds. Beautiful, full round bass, punchy and clear drums and guitar that is not washed out by P.A. and hall dynamics. Good show atmosphere, appreciative home crowd, and a band inspired and having loads of fun. Hot damn!
