Various sources SDBRD 9.0 Aud 8.6 - In order to present the entire concert, various sources had to be used but it’s well worth dealing with some level fluctuation because this is a smoking hot gig. The DVD presents the film that was shot of the entire festival, it is kind of dark and grainy in spots, other times it is nice and bright. Perhaps this is why it was never officially released? -
CD SDBRD 9.1 DVD EX Pro rare footage of the concerts. This is an excellent set and it is nice to have it all put together in one place. -

CD 1 Aud 6.8 This one is pretty rough, but if you got Vol. 1, than this set completes the Texas picture (with the exception of the Houston gigs). CD 2 Aud 7.2 -
Aud 8.3 - A loud tape, but surprisingly clear and enjoyable. Comes from a very low gen or master source, very crisp in every frequency, as if optimized for a commercial release – must be a remaster because I do not remember this being so good. -
Aud 7.3 – 7.5 - This recording ranges due to the fact that it is a 3 source merge. When it is at a 7.5 or even higher, it is pretty good stuff, like Red House for instance really shines. The weaker parts of the show just lack some definition and clarity but you can hear everything on stage, with some atmosphere too. Overall it is a special show, you get that sense from the bands performance. -
Soundboard 9.2 -
Aud 8.8 - Exceptional for an audience capture during this time period. Taken from three sources and merged, this tape offers the listener a really good idea of what to have expected from Jimi and company in 1970. Powerful, if not a little unbalanced at times, but infinitely enjoyable. -

Aud 8.8 - Utterly fantastic! Early experience, very good sound, total grooviness abounds. -
Aud 8.2 - At times this really shines, at times a little crowded too, but really a wonderful piece of history. One of the better audience tapes of the time period for sure. -
Pro Studio 9.8 -
Volume 1: Audience 8.4 - Very clear, especially Jeff, with Rod pushed to the background. Tends toward “shrill” with the cymbals but because it is a “hot” show with decent clarity we overlook some of the minor gripes. -
Soundboard 9.6 - Crisp and airy, a real sonic delight. -
Aud 7.0 - A touch of distortion and noisy but ferociously exciting in every way. You get a vivid sense of the electric atmosphere from the first notes. That alone draws you right into this show. -
Audience 7.3 - The sound field just won’t open up no matter how much you hope it will. However, this tape holds some rewards if you hang in there, there’s enough head room to sweeten the sound with Equalizer, so it does need a little boost on the highs – the mids and lows are all there and are not super well defined nor are they too boomy or muddy. There’s some muddiness but it is not a deal breaker. This is a good historic artifact.
