• Audience 8.6 - Small club vibe and really good sound with an emphasis on percussion clarity and presence. Recording leans to the mid and upper end but it’s not too brittle there, so it’s very comfortable but can use some added low end anyway. Aside from that, this is quite good. Psychedelic Furs Punto a Capo, Budria, Italy June 8, 1984 Band line-up Richard Butler – vocals John Ashton – guitar Tim Butler – bass guitar Keith Forsey – drums, percussion Total Time = 83:22 Disc 1 01 Love My Way 02 Pretty In Pink 03 Here Come Cowboys 04 My Time 05 President Gas 06 Sleep Comes Down 07 The Ghost In You 08 Heaven -- tape flip -- 09 Angels Disc 2 10 Sister Europe 11 Alice's House 12 Heartbeat 13 Forever Now 14 Imitation Of Christ 15 Into You Like A Train 16 India The Psychedelic Furs are an English rock band founded in 1977. Led by singer Richard Butler and his brother Tim Butler on bass. The Psychedelic Furs are one of the many acts spawned from the British post-punk scene. Their debut album was in 1980. But in 1982, the band were reduced to a four-piece. The Furs did find success in the US with their next release, 1981's Talk Talk Talk, which included the original version of "Pretty in Pink", which was later re-recorded for the 1986 movie soundtrack "Pretty in Pink". This movie would help launch Molly Ringwald's acting career.
  • Audience 8.4 - What saves the recording is the fact that it is clear, like virtually no muddiness, although the sound mix itself lacks definition except for Steven and Joe who are like rays of light peering through your window. The drums are good too, all in all it is hard to say this is not a necessity, it may not be but it’s very interesting and certainly of good enough quality to keep you engaged. • Soundboard 8.6 - This sounds VERY 80’s, I mean, it sounds pretty dated…but good quality. I guess they were not too bad, kind of simplistic maybe in a Twisted Sister kind of way, but the guitarist pulls out some tasty solos. • Studio Quality 9.5 - A fine collection of alternate mixes with a few I’d never heard. You have to be pretty well versed to know what is different on some of these, but yeah, there’s different layers to explore. The Rolling Stones TRACK LIST: 1. Brown Sugar - 4:05 2. "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" is a Mick Taylor live version with Keith Richards recorded in New York '86.
  • Soundboard 9.5 - A professional recording that has a real 1974 mix – sound engineers might understand what I am saying. Naw, I mean, it’s super clean and tight but it also has a certain kind of “dated” sound, and it really feels like a small venue to me…but these are PLUS marks!  It’s for those reasons I love it. • Studio Quality 9.5 - The first disc in this collection is referred to as “Revamped” because it extracts the most robust and complete takes, fixes where need be, and assembles in a way that most closely resembles a coherent project. Purists may opt for the more conventional outtake compilations contained on discs 2 and 3, but therein lies the beauty of this collection. It presents a much more interesting picture of what was and what could have been…notwithstanding the official release of Paul Kantner’s album. • Recorded in 1977 by a group of musicians who brought different perspectives into the equation. Very much an English folk psyche type of record but features a lot of Eastern influence with the introduction of Sitar, and tablas (and other sounds), an ethereal vibe permeates as Moog synthesizers weave in and out of the music. Lots of heavy, mystical vibe on this one.
  • Soundboard 9.6 - I was unfamiliar with this band, so listening to this stuff was a real eye (and ear) opener for me. They are quite good!  The sound quality is excellent as is the mix. • Audience 9.5 - Astounding! This, this is beyond devastating. Personally, I have to put this right up there with hearing Museo Rosenbach for the first time. How do I arrive at this?  Because, in 2021 you sort of don’t expect this old 70’s era Italian prog band to move the needle other than just reliving past glories. Oh how wrong that is…for starters, their SOUND is massive, powerful, dynamic, energetic, and TIGHT. Their material is amazing, complex, unpredictable, moving, and absolutely just devastating. I challenge anyone to find a modern band that can pull something like this off with such panache. Heavy is more than just distortion folks…it’s a lot of stuff and these guys just know what heaviness is from decades of experience. • Soundboard 9.0 - A large, open air festival “board” tape which probably uses some open stage micing. I would venture to guess this must have been a difficult show to control, and a recording made with an eye for a broadcast that they fought with every step of the way. That said, it’s pretty good stuff under all the circumstances.
