  • Soundboard 9.6 - Excellent in every respect, including the fact that there’s some audience bleeding into stage mics which in my opinion immensely help soundboard recordings from becoming too sterile. No chance of that happening here, so what you get is simply wonderful including excellent performances by everyone. • Soundboard 9.6 - A great sound happening here, but what I really love most about it is the brassy, killer bass. Obviously it’s everything, it’s all great, but Prince, even being mainly onto a funky, keyboard, drum, bass approach on this tour (guitar is present in places just not emphasized) which might not be everyone’s cup of tea, still is able to engage this old rock and roller. • Pro Audio 9.3 - This does not sound like a board tape, but does sound like a pro recording nevertheless as I am pretty sure it was broadcast in Japan.
  • Audience 9.2 - Some tapes from the audience, that are done well, give you a sense of where you may have been in the room listening, it’s a “visual” recording and I like those kind. • Soundboard 9.6 - This guy literally can play Happy Birthday and make it sound sexy and groovy (proof is available). Too bad I was so hard-headed and never went and saw him live. I could have on many occasions, but I just never saw myself as one of the “beautiful people” I guess. What a shame I would have loved it.  (Soundchecks, Rehearsals and Jams)
  • Audience 9.3 - A great, clean, and atmospheric recording that you cannot help but love. It’s one of those shows that you can’t get away from, the band is so on fire…even Prince has to comment about how tight his band is!  They are superb and the level of funkiness is off the charts. • Audience 9.4 - If the house itself sounds great, and your taping with high quality equipment (most likely a small digital unit with a good, dynamic mic and level control), then your result will be something like this. A lot of detail comes through, as does, from time to time, a rowdy audience – that adds to the atmosphere and thankfully never wrecks the audio recording. • Audience 8.8  - The Zurich aftershow is decent enough for what had to be a packed club, so yeah it’s somewhat claustrophobic as you feel like you are squeezed between people and you are trying to bootleg the damn show ha ha!  It’s good, it’s not great. The rest of the material is excellent quality from various source but all great. PRINCE The War Disc 1 Newpower Soul Tour Aftershow Kaufleuten, Zurich 24th August 1998 1. • Official reissue from ShroomAngel Records, this is a collection of live (and live in studio) tracks by the 70's Dallas, TX. prog band Hands (before they were known as Hands, they were called Prism).
  • All Pro Broadcast Quality 8.8-9.2 - Great compilation of classic BBC performances!
  • Audience 8.2 - A recent re-mastering has helped this old tape IMMENSELY. I mean, it took it from a 7.3 to an 8.2 which is significant. For that reason alone, people who have had this one should now upgrade.
Procol Harum Berlin 4 September 1970 feat. • Audience 7.2 - I would have preferred the guitar higher in the mix, so what happens is before the band starts playing, the audio sounds perfect, then when they start, the levels change and sound, for whatever reason, sounds weak, or it is the mix. It’s weird, because the drums sound fine, the bass is present, and then vocals but where is the keyboard and guitar? They are there, you can hear them, but they are too far back.

  • Audience 8.6 - Small club vibe and really good sound with an emphasis on percussion clarity and presence. Recording leans to the mid and upper end but it’s not too brittle there, so it’s very comfortable but can use some added low end anyway. Aside from that, this is quite good. Led by singer Richard Butler and his brother Tim Butler on bass. The Psychedelic Furs are one of the many acts spawned from the British post-punk scene. Their debut album was in 1980. But in 1982, the band were reduced to a four-piece. The Furs did find success in the US with their next release, 1981's Talk Talk Talk, which included the original version of "Pretty in Pink", which was later re-recorded for the 1986 movie soundtrack "Pretty in Pink". This movie would help launch Molly Ringwald's acting career.
  • Berlin 1971 - Audience 7.6 and Pro 8.7 - Material originates from an average audience tape but two songs come from a pro TV recording (most likely). Stockholm 1970 - Soundboard 8.9 - Material is most definitely from a TV source (thus explains the short interview). The second disc contains BBC tracks from 1970 and some rare color 16MM pro shot film from Berlin 1971. • Audience 9.6 - Stunning! The band is on fire, the recording is brilliant. More like this please!
  • Audience 9.3 - Did you miss Queen in their prime? Don’t worry, because now you can be there again by listening to this show. I think every English band that plays Boston elevates their game, perhaps it is because Boston feels like home to them…it is kind of quaint and vaguely British I guess.
  • Audience 8.7 - This is just a dandy, with that large hall sound but NO annoying reverb or echo, just vibe. File alongside Boston 76, which is one of the very best of the tour.
  • Audience 9.3 - Wow! Simply incredible, an audience tape with more dynamics than most professional recordings, and a fantastic performance and set list!
  • Audience 7.4 - Roughly the same quality for each show. Both present complete 1974 shows, certainly must have’s for any dedicated fan, and even though they are only slightly above average, they are both good listens.
