Audience 8.8 - A good, strong, very clear recording with accompanying audience members who are REALLY getting into it. I found it fun, not annoying at all, because mostly they are quiet while the music plays. The music is great too, and strong performances by everyone. Soundboard 9.5 - A great, loud, but very well balanced board, and it has some dynamics to it, and even manages to allow some atmosphere to creep in. Audience 8.4 - This is a tape that fits the Stones image, it’s rough, raw, and loaded with chaotic energy. It has flaws, but it recovers and gets back onto your good side. You will get used to the screaming chick, thankfully her howls are spread out. Try not to get too wrapped up into the occasional drop out or glitch because you can really get sucked into this concert if you let yourself. Madison Square Garden New York, June 24th, 1975 Disc 1

French Radio Broadcast 8.4 - The recording does not sound what you would expect a broadcast to be, it sounds like an audience recording honestly. Then, you have to listen past the announcer comments (in French) between songs, and sometimes chiming in at the end, and beginning of the next song. Annoying, but I guess a small price to pay for having the priceless recordings of classic live Rolling Stones of this early vintage. I did notice the quality to be much better than the way I remember it being when these this first surfaced. Audience 8.8 - This is a very decent tape, with a few minor cuts that do not ruin it at all, but the atmosphere and crispness of the tape is refreshing and makes for a most enjoyable listen. Audience 8.3 - This recording is balancing very finely on the borderline but thankfully falls onto the “acceptable” side. I would call it slightly above average maybe, as the tape shows some typical age limitations, but still manages to present the evening in a listenable quality. Must have been a small audience at this show, crowd response is weak, but the band still perform admirably. Guzman Theatre, Miami, FL. March 9th, 1974 Disc 1

Audience 8.0 - In this particular case, the rating doesn’t say anything about how amazing this tape is. Sure, it’s not glorious hi-fi with ultra-wide dynamic range, but it is actually much more than that. It’s just, pure magic. Short, yes, it’s not complete by a long shot and I am a little sad we don’t have the rest, but what we do have is proof of why Zeppelin took off after touring the States in ’69.  I can’t imagine what people were thinking at this show. They could not have ever gotten anything as monumental as this from any local artist or 2^nd tier touring act. This is indescribable; I can’t even find the right words. Page and Plant are killing it, in perfect unison, playing the best live versions of these tunes I think I have ever heard, approaching the majesty of the Fillmore West 4-27-69 but not as clear (obviously). The guitar tone is similar, with that funky echoplex delay sound especially on You Shook Me which launches into another dimension.  The sound, at first, you might be dismayed, but stick with it. By the time you get a couple minutes in, you will be mesmerized. It’s an 8.0 that you’ll listen to a few more times for the lesson Page and Plant give in how to hypnotize an audience.
