• Audience 8.7 - This recording is better than it has a right to be, after all it is in a big stadium, early 70’s so the gear, if it doesn’t weigh 80 pounds, has to be cheap crap…but, dang it this sounds cool!  Granted, instrument separation isn’t great (it is good enough), and it isn’t super close up, but all that still does not detract from how stompin’ this is. Great fun! • Audience 7.0 - Perhaps the only known live recording of this band. Well worth having!
  • Soundboard 8.8 - A slightly aged sounding tape that received a much needed EQ and level boost recently that lifted it a full point higher ratings-wise. If you like Chicago you should like this band too.
  • Audience 8.7 - Small club atmosphere but big sound and a taper who thankfully was there to capture it all for posterity…and he did a great job of it. • Audience 8.2 - A good recording that gives you the whole show in clear, decent quality with maybe the only real flaw being a sort of pushed back guitar but it is there and you can get just about everything in the mix. Enjoyable!
  • Audience 9.2 - This recording has a special quality to it, it’s not that it’s technically great – the instrument separation isn’t very good but the band does project well – the thing about this tape is it feels like you are sitting just above the audience, in the middle of the room, and you hear the space around you, you have a great sense of where you are and it’s weird but you can visualize this show. I give it a high rating because this recording captures the “essence” of this moment in time in an accurate manner that allows the listener to be transported. • Paris 1971 Soundboard 9.6 - Excellent, well balanced mix seemingly made for some kind of professional use but if it was for broadcast than this is certainly a pre-broadcast master source. Frankfurt 1972 Audience 8.8 - A really good tape here, it seems it would have to have been on a reel to reel because it’s too good to be a portable unit with a cheap inboard mic. • Soundboard 9.6 - Just like their masterpiece album “ys”, this recording has a sinister, haunting kind of vibe. They pretty much do the entire album, with a couple of non-LP songs included as well (and both are good). Il Balleto Di Bronzo Nearfest 2000 Zoellner Arts Center Bethlehem, PA. • Audience 9.5 - Superb fidelity, and as always a fine performance is delivered with that trademark menacing keyboard sound. At times it could be confused with electric guitar, which is exactly what I think Gianni Leone was going for since the start of the band in 1972. • Audience 9.0 - A warm, comfortable recording. Plenty of headroom, and a good instrument balance. The music is challenging and expertly performed, stuff like this is why a hardly every play my guitar anymore. What's the point? Chris Impelliterri is a beast! • Audience 9.0 - A clean and well made recording that allows for increase of volume without causing headaches! Everything is very well balanced, guitars and bass are in the pocket and drums sound spectacular. Every now and then you get that slight phasing effect that typically happens if someone passes in front of the mic...very briefly, and it does not distract. • Radio Broadcast 9.3 - Some tape hiss but otherwise a beautiful full sounding set here. This music is glorious, it’s maybe not everyone’s cup of tea but it’s very heartfelt and genuine, delicate, contemplative, uplifting. Highly recommended! • Audience 9.4 - This is a revelation for me. I was not too familiar with the band and always assumed they were just another “Neo Prog” band from the 80’s. Boy am I wrong! This is KILLER! The audio quality is thankfully excellent and bright so as to capture the insane complexity and brilliance of this band. Sure, there’s going to be obvious attempts to compare them to other bands but to my ears they had something unique going, while also tipping the cap to bands like Marillion, Genesis, and UK. The amount of ideas going on in each song is beyond belief.
