Audience 8.9 - Excellent quality, I did find it worthwhile in almost every regard but keep in mind it is a large venue so it is not a close, tight, and super dynamic recording. It is, however, clear and well done, and overall the sound is picked up well from the main P.A. system, it has force, it has clarity, it has a good "live" quality to it with all the atmosphere of being there. Audience 8.3 - not a good sounding tape, but it gives you enough guitar and vocals too actually keep listening, and you'll actually be glad you stuck with it because here's one thing I get from this: A totally uncirculated tape that shows Led Zeppelin absolutely crushing it, in fact so much so that I really wish this was professionally recorded and released legit because it's a much better show than Long Beach. Most songs are incomplete, audio comes and goes - actually occasionally getting pretty good, but it's hit or miss all the way. I think any Zep collector is going to appreciate this performance for sure - really amazing and for that I think you have to give this a listen. Professional recording only available as a digital download. It's too good to remain vapor ware. A lot of effort and care has been taken to represent this release as close to an official capacity as possible. So, if you love complex, ELP inspired prog with vintage sounding instruments (think Anglagard, ELP, Porcupine Tree). than get this because this Russian band really delivers the goods. Audience 8.6 - The first thing you want to do when you begin to play this is skip the first song. The taper is bustling around trying to get into his seat, the tape deck microphone is buried deep within his clothing and the sound mix on stage is still being dialed in...all told this track is unlistenable. What happens next is miraculous - the sun begins to shine in the darkness! We now have a recording to enjoy, and it is enjoyable. It's not Randy, but look, what was asked of Bernie was impossible and he did a remarkable job filling in while they searched for a permanent replacement. I admire Bernie Torme and do not ignore the live recordings of him with Ozzy (not many are very good unfortunately). This is one of the better sounding tapes out there from this period. Audience 8.5 - A total time capsule, I mean, if you want to know what the 70's sounded like just pop this CD in. Kind of dated but hippie cool. Sound is good, but a little crowded in the middle and raucous in a fun way. Your ears will bump into the guy next to you, and you'll be pushed and shoved a little but man, you are at the show having a blast. The thing about listening to mid 70's live Aerosmith is you are always kind of tuning in to hear signs of the impending train-wreck about to happen at any minute and I guess that is the charm of it. This recording is the train wrecking, but as I said it's in a pretty phun way. AEROSMITH Cleveland Coliseum Cleveland, Ohio 1976-06-28 01. JAWS INTRO 02. MAMA KIN 03. WRITE ME 04. S.O.S. Soundboard 9.0 - A somewhat dated sounding board tape. It's good enough, it's better than a muddy, distant audience tape, but it is less than the typical crispness you expect out of a board tape. There's a very driving guitar tone on here though, and it really powers this show in a highly dynamic way. Audience 9.2 - An incomplete show, but who's counting? Fourteen rock and roll songs by masters of this style. When you hear the songs that you are familiar with, there is an air of this being kind of less of a nostalgic performing of classics and more of a rare opportunity to hear the authentic performances of them in a small club live setting. It's charming, but serious. Studio 9.8 - As expected, near perfect quality. The mix is a bit different to the album we all know and love, but not enough to change the total badassery of the tones, complexity, inventiveness, and composition.
