Brand New - Soundboard/Studio Quality -Live at Hammersmith Odeon & Friday Rock Show Session the two recordings made for BBC in 1984 by Gary Moore. The Hammersmith Show is a fantastic Gary Moore show full of energy and classic tunes. The sound quality is very good and the track list is a must! The Friday Rock Session is a 3 songs session (plus interview) recorded at the mythic Maida Vale Studios in London. -
Brand New - Live Marquee Club November 29th, 1985 and demos early '85 and late '86. Butler formed a short-lived group in 1984 after leaving Black Sabbath for the first time. Butler wrote some songs intended for the project, but the group did not record or release any material. This mid-80s project featured a fascinating hodgepodge of players as the bass legend was joined by Sabbath's touring keyboardist Jezz Woodroffe and Persian Risk's vocalist Carl Sentence among others. The band was never able to release anything beyond a couple of demos that remain a fascinating relic. -
Audience 8.7 - This is a really good, but flawed, recording. The good points are that it is clear, and has unmistakable stereo panning, and a LOT of good live atmosphere (not the obnoxious audience kind of atmosphere!). The flaws are that taper is working hard (to his credit) to get into a sweet spot and while doing this the signal to his deck fades in and out slightly - the effect is one of phasing, so it's not a deal-breaker flaw it's just you have to accept that vocals and what not at times sound really far back and then sound much closer...at various points during the show (I should say guitar does this too, maybe less often). The reason why you'll stick it out is because when it is good...it's great. Radio Broadcast 9.1 - A great document! Sounds fine, a touch of hiss but it is amazing how good this sounds for its age - I have heard recent radio broadcasts that sound worse. Soundboard 9.4 - A lovely bright and clear sound, only noise I hear is between songs. I also love the fact that this dates from a period where there's not an abundance of Kansas recordings. I have to consider this a must have for Kansas collectors. Kiss coming to Brazil in the early 80’s was a truly revolution! It was news all over the place! The Maracana Stadium, used for the first time on this king of show with an international act. The sound could be better if Brazilian sound engineers and broadcast equipment was better, but is decent enough for a soundboard recording. -
Audience 8.3 - not a good sounding tape, but it gives you enough guitar and vocals too actually keep listening, and you'll actually be glad you stuck with it because here's one thing I get from this: A totally uncirculated tape that shows Led Zeppelin absolutely crushing it, in fact so much so that I really wish this was professionally recorded and released legit because it's a much better show than Long Beach. Most songs are incomplete, audio comes and goes - actually occasionally getting pretty good, but it's hit or miss all the way. I think any Zep collector is going to appreciate this performance for sure - really amazing and for that I think you have to give this a listen.
