• Audience 8.4 - This is a hard one to set aside, it’s an uncommon tape that sounds very good. It’s bright, and atmospheric (not echoey!) without any big hall boominess. The real selling point here is that both Ozzy and Randy are the focus in this live mix. I say go ahead and grab it if you want to hear the very early Blizzard Of Ozz on tour ‘cause this is a great find. • Everything in this canister sounds very good to great (sdbrd) but I would say disc 1 (the early 1980 show) is the worst sounding, but consequently one of extreme importance. These early Blizzard gigs are the REAL band, and I mean they were a band and not a concoction and not that I have anything against the second iteration, I think this first line-up was badass. This entire set is a joy to listen to, as I stated most of it is very good to excellent quality and going through these important years is a hell of a lot of fun and quite fitting now that Ozzy has performed his final show. The package and art is simply stunning, and befitting of an "unauthorized" tribute to him and his career during the 80's. • Audience 8.8 - I give this recording high marks for being one of the good ones, and you know how important any live recording with Randy Rhoades is so instantly when you hear this, and your ears go "wow, cool", well that means we have something special. Now, it does take a song or so to get balanced, maybe that is the taper and maybe that is the house, either way it is typical of an old audience tape to start a little rough but settle in as it goes. I am not saying this is super-duper, but when you have at least a very listenable tape, where you can clearly hear Randy and Ozzy, maybe a tiny bit of overload here but it doesn't matter - my ears don't lie and I felt this one delivered the goods. • Professional recording only available as a digital download. It's too good to remain vapor ware. A lot of effort and care has been taken to represent this release as close to an official capacity as possible. So, if you love complex, ELP inspired prog with vintage sounding instruments (think Anglagard, ELP, Porcupine Tree). than get this because this Russian band really delivers the goods. • Disc 1 Denver 1976 Soundboard 9.5 - A very bright and clear board tape with emphasis in the mix for maximum vocal clarity, but I like the way the drums sound and the horns are very clear too. Overall this is a “funk” mix. My only criticism might be the sizzle of the cymbals but they aren’t crowding the mix which might have been a deal-breaker for me. This is good funked up stuff! Disc 2 Oakland 1977 Soundboard/open mic audience 9.3 - I have to say my ears do not lie and there definitely is a professional quality to this recording but I could swear they have ambient mic’s to add atmosphere or perhaps to fill gaps?  When the music is playing it’s most def soundboard, that is all I know. Detroit 1978 Soundboard 9.0 - A somewhat compressed but excellent tape, I particularly love this one because they play Maggot Brain which is my fave PFunk tune. • Radio Broadcast 8.8 - This is most definitely a broadcast although when it starts you may confuse it for a very good audience tape. The tape itself that was made from the broadcast is a little aged it seems but holds up pretty well. It’s a solid old tape, just could use a little brightening up. • Audience 9.1 - Someone knew what there were doing! Wonderful presence! Jamming show!
  • Soundboard 9.5 - This is a brilliant recording, razor sharp and electric at a time when most music was becoming rather lame. Not saying Pat Benatar did not have her share of radio friendly numbers, but even those featured good, solid rock guitar that did not resemble anything else offered by mainstream top 40 at that time (aside for maybe The Cars and Foreigner…and Cheap Trick). • Audience 7.8 - Quite a brilliant sound, some audience involvement occasionally, just a touch of hall, but good atmosphere to compliment a pleasant tape.
  • Audience 9.7 - Here’s one of those timeless artists who always sounds relevant no matter the time period. A 1985 concert is a 1975 concert is a 2005 concert – consistently excellent and never selling out integrity for anything approaching chart success. This recording puts you so close, so intimate it’s really like being there in the front row. Drums are in your living room, the piano is next to you, and Pat is your best friend. Wonderful! • Soundboard 9.8 - A beautifully mixed audio, with a touch of “verb” that allows for some air around the music. Crisp, but not crispy, warm, punch when warranted, and clean but not sterile. • Gainesville 1978 Soundboard 9.5 - A professional straight board feed recording that is as clean and balanced as you’d ever want – but very occasionally there may be a slight tape drop out (rarely), and the sound is almost too good…meaning it could use some ambience and atmosphere but if you only want to hear this as a musical performance rather than event, this is damn near perfect.

Cincinnati 1989 Audience 9.7 - A soaring, elegant recording that captures this event in spectacular quality. Guitars seem to float over your head and wrap around your ears as they seem to pan across the room, drums filling the spaces and adding immediacy. When the audience claps and responds it’s as if it is a part of the show how it blends in and seems so respectful. Overall man this is a frighteningly good recording and performance and is pretty much in the “must have” range IMHO.
