• SDBRD 8.8 - A solid one, albeit there’s some tape hiss present, and vocals are a little muddied in the mix but it’s still a really good and anyone can appreciate.
  • Soundboard 8.8 - OK, so yeah this board tape is extremely clear but it suffers from the sterility of most board tapes, and when the band is ACDC, you really need that electric atmosphere a rowdy audience provides. I also found this tape kind of missing some “guts”, but, if you want to hear everything, all guitars and drums, vocals (including backing vocals), then you can’t miss with a clean board tape that allows everything to be present. • Audience 7.8 - A recording that slowly gets a little better after the first song or two but I have to tell you – for historical purposes this recording is the first time Brian Johnson appears on tape with the band (live, not studio). I think he does a fine job filling the spot too, but that’s up to every fan to decide.
  • Audience 8.3 - At first, you would have expected this to sound awful, being an awfully loud band playing in a small club with primitive gear…and it’s not exactly perfect but for what it is it is DAMN good!  Guitars up front, vocals a but buried, drums reasonably clear, but you get a real sense of the action and the sound is not bad at all.  Historically, this is absolutely a must for any ACDC fan.
  • Audience 8.8 - At first my thought was that this was a recording for a broadcast because even though it sounds like an audience recording, that may just mean that the station used room mics to capture the concert. What tipped me off to the fact that this is indeed just a really good audience tape is the clapping near the mic after the songs. • Audience  8.8 - A solid recording all the way through. Jamming!
  • Audience  8.5 - Lively sound for the live portion, the demos are “studio” pro.

    AEROSMITH – Backstage Pass 1974-1977 (3CD)

Original price was: $28.49.Current price is: $26.49.
CD 1 - Audience 7.7 - A very rare tape that only recently surfaced. Hard to complain when presented with something as rare, so just be aware that the tape was recorded in the middle of the venue and features a boomy, echoey sound. CD 2 - A very good recording, clear and immersive, you can really get into this one. CD 3 Surprisingly clear, a welcome addition to the not so well documented 1977 period where the band starts to really fray around the edges (and in the middle!) but that is not evident here – this is the band in fine form.
  • Audience  8.1 - Small club sound, a little bit muffled but guitars, vocals and harmonica and even piano come through fine and all in all I think once your ears adjust you can enjoy this. A wild night of rock and roll for sure!
  • Pro Radio Broadcast  9.1 - Legendary WCBN live broadcast when the band were peaking and sounding so good. What happened?
  • Soundboard 9.9 - This nearly brought me to tears. I always knew this band could reach the highest level of quality, in performance, in tone, in showmanship, and here it is. Yeah, sure, I know what you are thinking: “it’s mid 80’s Aerosmith, it’s the doldrums of rock, it’s a washed up bunch of druggies” but I have to tell you that if this marks a “comeback” then it’s the most amazing comeback I have ever heard. I’ve heard tons of live Aerosmith and I take this show over ALL of them. Just listen to how everyone plays off each other, how well they know each other it's like the magic has returned and they know it. Aerosmith The Orpheum Theater Boston, MA.
