• Metropolitan Opera House NY 1970 Audience 8.4 - A decent tape considering we have very few US 1970 tour audience tapes that sound great. A little sweetening with EQ and you’ve just raised the sound rating another half a point…technology has changed the way collectors think about these old audience source tapes. Newcastle 1971 Audience 8.7 - A surprising new find!  Buried for decades and now dusted off, restored and presented for your approval. It’s not bad!  I can hear it all, with some cool atmosphere. I rather like it! San Francisco 1971 Audience 8.8 - This tape has some depth to it, where you get definition in the bass and not just “low end” which I appreciate. Roger rises above in the sound mix but on this tape nobody is drowned out, it’s evenly mixed and that makes it enjoyable. Some background noise which sounds like it is coming from the house PA but not during the band performing…all in all this is a real good one. • Landover 1973 Soundboard 9.3 - A solid recording that was broadcast over the air and features a nice wide stereo mix showing detail in the bass and crisp, crunchy guitar not to mention having another well recorded Keith Moon experience…and of course Roger is in fine form (when is he not?). Wembley 1975 Audience 8.5 - Not horrible, the music is all here in pretty clear form (I get a good picture of drums thankfully), but the highlight is the stage banter where you get a lot of stuff that will entertain for sure. I am happy say that the recording does also get better, so that once you are firmly ensconced in your listening chair you will start to get into this one more and more. • Audience 9.2 - Excellent! Strong if just a tad subdued as far as guitar loudness.
  • Soundboard - Most collectors will know of this, and this set does include the partial live performance segment as well. A nice snippet of a good year, 1971.
  • Soundboard 9.3/Studio 9.4 - Excellent quality all around, and of course it’s Thin Lizzy so you know the jams are top shelf. Thin Lizzy Golders Green Hippodrome London, UK. July 26, 1973 1. • Audience 8.4 - An uneven mix is the fault, other than that it’s fine. Sounds like taper was on one side of the P.A. and got a lot of one guitar, and it sounds great, very menacing tone, but we lose some other elements that sort of appear and then disappear. The recording is not hard to enjoy even with that issue, for me it was because of the good live tone and having that guitar so close it made me feel like I was seated with the taper hearing what he was hearing. Also, I look forward to certain songs live, with Opium Trail being one and it is present here on this tape. THIN LIZZY Orpheum Theater Boston MA. • Frankfurt 1972 - Audience 7.1 - Vocals buried but this is so cool, such an early show – guitar is smokin’ hot! Berlin 1973 - Audience 8.4
  • Audience 8.6 - The tape starts off kind of funky, and the band, or I should say, Phil Lynott, is having difficulty with the sound of his bass. Things get progressively better, until what you have is a pretty darn good show and recording.
  • Soundboard 9.8 - What makes this so great is not only the excellent live mix but also the performance itself. So few Thin Lizzy recordings out there to begin with, so when we get one this good, you know, it’s something to treasure.
  • Audience 9.1 - This is the surprise tape of 2020. A GREAT sounding tape and awesome performance, and it is completely new to my ears. Fantastic find! • Audience 9.3 - Super close to the action but no distortion in the recording makes for a mighty fun listening experience. It’s quite literally like being there…just close your eyes. • Studio Quality 9.0-9.3  - The rating is generally accurate throughout although to be picky you could slightly vary some of the sessions by fractions.
