• 4 Shows - Soundboard  9.8 - Never heard these sound better. Wow!
  • Audience  8.5 A tape that has been much celebrated over the years, which has also been through the hands of many a fine engineer, bringing out the best of the old tape (and fixing a lot of errors along the way too). Now, here we are decades after the event and it sounds fresh and exciting…still.
  • Audience  6.9 Get ready for mass volume, shocking that the tape does not distort! You want guitar?... good because that is what you get the most of from this show – then Ginger and then vocals.
  • Audience  7.2 - 7.6 During the quite (or less loud I should say) portions, this tape shines. At full throttle, there’s a bandwidth issue with this tape, meaning the music is too much for the narrow bandwidth of the cassette to contain. That being said, there’s no distortion, miraculously – and despite the massive volume you still get a reasonable clearness of the music. If it was just a little more distinct, this could be one of those “feels like your there” tapes.
  • Audience  7.8 Spectacular 67 gig this one! First, the excellent set list featuring some songs rarely, if ever before, played live. Second, a good, solid immediate sound to this tape. No, it is not perfect, it is very loud (no distortion) but man it is electric in every sense. Guitar is KILLER, the sound and the playing. Very very interesting show and one to get!

  • SDBRD 9.2 - Would be rated even higher but for the fact that vocals are non-existent in this mix. Well, if you care about the lyrics, get a lyric sheet – meanwhile, the music is fine with a guitar clinic being put on by Clapton. Later in the set, the sound switches over to an audience recording (7.2) and the vocals and bass return. The main difference between this one and the one already listed here is that this is just the Tulip Bulb Auction Hall show without additional material (date here is correct) and different, I would say better, artwork.

  • Soundboard  9.7 Clearly this is one of those “sounds like you are there” tapes. It’s so good I would recommend it to newbies as a good introduction to the band.
  • Soundboard  9.2 Would be rated even higher but for the fact that vocals are non-existent in this mix. Well, if you care about the lyrics, you best get a lyric sheet – meanwhile, the music is fine with a guitar clinic being put on by Clapton. Later in the set, the sound switches over to an audience recording (7.2) and the vocals and bass return.

  • Audience  8.9 Wow, this is what it's all about. This is too much, if you know the history, the scene, the time and place, it’s almost depressing because you know this just could not and will not ever happen again. How could it? So thankful this was taped, and it’s VERY good!
  • Audience 8.6 - Legendary band that sadly ended up being one of those acts that people still talk about when discussing music industry fuck jobs. This recording is good enough for the listener to hear everyone on stage. It’s not going to give you a broad spectrum throughout the frequencies due to the limitations of the cassette recorder but my goodness the energy does come through! It’s a decent recording, it’s well worthy of being in a collection and I for one could not stop listening to it once I pressed “play” because it rocks! • Studio quality 8.8 - A somewhat dated sound here, but clear and clean and straightforward. CCR were very song based as a band but man, they can also free-form jam with the best of them. Here is some evidence of that. Creedence Clearwater Revival (aka. CCR) with Booker T.
