• Audience 9.4  - Superior to a board tape in my opinion because it is recorded in the way that your ears would have picked up the sound in the venue, with the perfectly balanced stereo mixing and balancing of instruments to each side of the stage. Wonderful!
  • Soundboard 8.8 - Good punchy sound if not a little heavy on bass but it’s fine ‘cause that bass is funky and snappin’ coolness bruh.
  • Audience 8.7 - It’s a small to mid-size venue and a loud all-girl metal band so the idea here is to just have some fun. If you are wanting pristine clarity and dynamics, you have come to the wrong place. If you want polished, precision metal, um, yeah, whatever pal. If you wanna rock with some veteran metal chicks and get sloppy drunk, well, step right up!
  • Audience 8.8 - Loud keyboards and vocals, great drum sound at the large outdoor arena in Long Beach. Audience 8.4 - A muddier sound, not nearly as distinct as the Long Beach show but due to the scarcity of live Giuffria shows I would say this deserves your attention. On the positive, the guitar sounds pretty good and clear, and the drums are positioned well.

  • FM Broadcast 9.0 and Audience 8.8 - Both recordings capture the band well enough to appreciate that they were at least attempting to craft their own sound and style. The FM is cleaner and better separation of instruments but the audience tape ain’t all that bad. Giuffria 2/20/85 Peabodys Down Uder WMMS Coffee Break Cleveland, OH 1. Do Me Right 2. • Soundboard 9.1 - Acetates and live noticeable wear from the acetates but everything is clearly heard.
  • Audience 8.3 - A little bit of hiss on this tape but every instrument is distinct and knowing how few live documents exist of this band, you take it! Very very good, and the music…well, if I have to explain you probably want something else but if you know, ‘nuf said!
  • Audience 9.5 - Beautiful sound, excellent performance. A venerable Italian prog band that achieved critical success by virtue of having composed soundtrack music for horror films in the 70’s. • Audience 8.1 - Tape is not clear but also not muddy, it’s just typical of early 70’s gear not being able to handle freakishly loud rock bands. This recording highlights drums, guitars, and bass and vocals are in the background. That being said, the drums and guitars are pretty clear, and there’s plenty of the dueling guitar pyrotechnics on display. I don’t complain to have this show to hear, it’s clearly worth it to the collectors out there. • Audience 8.3 - Pretty clean but somewhat low levels. Solution? Play it loud!
  • SDBRD 9.5 - both of these gigs are spectacular, for me they represent an all too brief high water mark for the band where things are unbelievably tight and incomprehensibly cosmic. If more people knew of this music's existence, this band's old catalog would go platinum today. GONG Europe 1975 Disc 1 La Celle St. Cloud Festival France June 8, 1975 1. Master Builder 10:18 2. • SDBRD 9.6 - yeah this is the stuff! Gong may not be mentioned in the same breath with all the other notable Euro 70’s icons but they should be.
  • Soundboard 9.3 - Three discs containing three shows performed during a stretch of the ’74 tour when Bill Bruford was brought in to complete the tour dates scheduled. All three are soundboard, great clarity and dynamics, a real sonic treat and of course Bruford brings a wide array of chops and panache to add to an already talented ensemble. • Soundboard 8.8 - Not too bad for a 48 year old tape. Does have some lack of clarity (minor) being old analog but for the most part I say dive right in because with this band…well the water is rather deep, and colorful. • Discs 1 & 2 Soundboard 9.3 - Sounds to be professionally recorded possibly for a radio broadcast, but aside from very minor tape noise (I am nitpicking here), this tape is brilliant and has survived the passing of time in grand shape. Disc 3 Soundboard 9.6  - Superb, in almost every way!
