Audience 7.0 - Kind of like the Rainbow show, it is clear and one of the other decent early shows from an audience source. Again, not much bottom end here, but you can hear all instruments clearly. -
FM Broadcast 8.8 A tape recorded off air sounding its age but surprisingly it’s actually decent enough that fans of this venerable band will rejoice at hearing such an early gig in very good quality. If you compare it to a typical FM broadcast you’ll be less ecstatic, but I tell you this: in the year 1982 there were few bands that could match the intensity and precision of Iron Maiden. Audience 7.0 - Indispensable for the Iron Maiden collector. Is it perfect? No, far from it. This is one of the earliest recorded gigs that you can possibly HEAR. -
Audience 8.9 - This is what I consider the best audience tape from the Somewhere In Time Tour. It’s got loads of atmosphere but not at the expense of the “directness” of the PA to the mic. It’s a realistic sound, this tape replicates exactly what your ears heard coming out of the PA at this show…without artifacts to detract. Get this!

St. Austell 1980 Audience 8.4 - In the pantheon of early Maiden live recordings this one is far from the worst, in fact I would say it’s worth a good listen because one thing is a grimy, muddy old tape and another is a relatively good tape that is NOT muddy but maybe does not have a wide dynamic range…and I’ll take the latter every time.

Volume One: Audience 7.4 - Thankful for these Japanese tapers who had the best gear at the time. Reasonably clear if a little squashed, it nevertheless is way better than 85% of the early Maiden audience recordings. -
Volume Two: Audience 7.6 - Just a touch better than Volume one, suffers from the same limitations but has a slightly more open sound. -
Volume Three: Audience 8.4 - This is best of the tour by far. A great early audience recording it’s clear and open sounding. Yes! -

Audience 5.0 - Low fi, but so few good recordings from the early days. The lead work is the clearest sound on this, vocals non-existent. Can appreciate the dual guitars on this even though it is low-fi. -
Audience 8.8 - Every now and then a tape surfaces that really gets you excited as a collector. This one is just such a tape, because for one thing not only is the quality very good, but it’s super nice on the ears. What I mean is, the timbre of the recording is very comfortable, so it’s easy to listen to the entire show there is no fatigue on the ears at all. The icing on the cake is having both opening acts in the same kind of quality, in complete form. So, what more could you ask for? Radio Broadcast 9.2 A touch of hiss present, but other than that this is a pleasant and airy recording. Electronic music with an atmosphere that would convince you otherwise. Excellent!
