Audience 9.7 - For me, this right here encapsulates the 70's for me growing up. When I first discovered rock and roll, the radio was on repeat with the Frampton Comes Alive! album, and everyone in the neighborhood had a copy. I had it on 8 track. This live recording is the bomb, just a wonderful document of a great moment in 70's rock music history. I love the atmosphere too, everything about this actually does "come alive" and for that it deserves the high rating. Audience 9.0 - This is a really bold and vibrant recording, where you get this palpable “thwap” of the drums that feels like you are there. In very quiet passages there is the slightest of tape hiss but it’s actually kind of hard to find things to be critical of with this one. It’s really good! Pro SDBRD 9.5 - Recorded for broadcast this uses two different sources of the broadcast but you don’t really notice the transition. What you will notice is how amazing this is, and what makes it really cool is how much Peter addresses the audience. It’s an intimate feeling gig, everyone is so dialed in to what is happening in the room with Peter…imagine, no cell phones, no distracted idiots, just genuine love and appreciation for the performer and his craft. I miss that. Audience 9.3 - This is the result of tapers who CARE about what they are doing to the point of using the best gear, for starters, seating in the best location, and using the utmost care to successfully capture the event…then having the prescience to preserve the result for future generations to enjoy. This is AWESOME in every way. Fuck man, if you can’t appreciate this recording, and this artist, just do us all a favor and find some other thing because music ain’t it for you. Yes that is harsh, but you’ll understand once you’ve listened to this. Audience 9.3 - One thing you must concede about recordings from this venue – they are almost 100% of the time decent overall but more importantly extremely pleasant atmospherically. Audiences here are generally very attuned to the performer on stage, knowing the music, and there to listen to the music. The Roxy was a venue for music connoisseurs. A brilliant tape here to add to your collection.

FM Broadcast 9.1 - A board tape that seems to have a more ambient quality to it, meaning it sounds like close mic’ing rather than direct into board. That means you do not hear the audience as is typical of a board tape, but you do get a “room” sound like the quality of an audience tape, albeit a very good one. This is a real good tape but it does sound somewhat dated and thankfully the remastered version (this one) brings more clarity and punch than before. Radio Broadcast 9.1 - A rare find, this is a band that can be best defined as an eclectic, world music progressive band that features some ethnic style music that occasionally fuses in some nice, tasty jazzy electric guitar rock stylings. Atlanta 1977 Audience 8.6 - At times the tape shines (quieter sections) but for the louder parts (most of the concert) the bass overtakes guitar, and the bass is not boomy so it is not an annoying thing it’s more of a live mix thing. Clarity is very good but not great, frequencies are all intact here, the sound can breathe a little, it’s not a bad tape and it is not a great tape…and I think the consensus is that you would benefit from having it in the collection. Louisville 1977 Audience 8.7 - The sound here borders on distortion but manages to stay within a sane level of tolerance due to exceptional re-mastering (which is so difficult, to keep highs and mids but lose clipping, it’s a task I would not want myself). If taper was able to manage his levels, this would have been one of the best audience tapes of all time…you can hear the quality, but yeah, some problems there with the upper level distortion keep it as a very good tape as opposed to extremely great. Still, I have to say this is well worth having. Milwaukee 1977 Audience 8.2 - This is the kind of tape that is hard to get through without needing some major adjusting. I can tell you only that even after careful re-mastering, it is still an average tape with some decent moments but mostly difficult on the ears. It’s saving grace? It’s a brand new discovery, and is only popping up for the first time since it was first recorded. I enjoyed the quieter parts (such as Wish You Were Here, and the acoustic portions of the Pigs suites).
