• Adrian 1969 & Detroit 1970 Audience 9.1 - Surprisingly good and clear! I was very tempted to call this a board tape but there’s too many artifacts that suggest otherwise…but it’s an amazing find being now the earliest known Amboy Dukes tape. Detroit 1970 Audience 8.6 - The audio is clear but the live mix drowns out vocals. Drums are perhaps the strongest here, followed by the guitar/bass in tandem but I can also hear keys in the mix…so the verdict is that this tape is most welcome and delivers where it is needed even though it is a little rough around the edges. • Audience 8.8 - This may not be a tape with good song separation or detail but it occupies a sonic range that is very comfortable on the ears. Usually when attending a very loud, bombastic heavy rock or metal concert you aren’t going to distinguish much anyway, you will basically hear a roaring sound…but this tape delivers a little more than just that. This is a good document and taper used good gear, sat in a good spot, and recorded everything. I would call this recording completely immersive, with a warm, inviting sound. • Audience 9.4 - Whoever did this one really knew what the heck they were doing so I am thinking it was someone who knew what they were doing…and the band was on board with it. • Audience 8.7 - There are more recordings of this band pre-1983 that post, which I find rather odd. I found this recordings to be adequate to hear what they were like in 1983, and they were good, but the recording does not highlight the vocals, rather on guitar and drums which is fine but I love this band’s vocal acrobatics and want them front and center. • Audience 9.4 - Fantastic atmosphere and vibe on this one. A strong recording that captures their full, glorious girl power. • Audience 8.8 - The sound of this recording owes almost all of its characteristics to the house PA sound. What I mean is this: The recorder very accurately captured exactly what this gig sounded like, and so if there is any particular thing that is not as good as it could be, we need to talk to the sound man. This tape captures this show in excellent quality, I would say the rating reflects more what the sound itself actually was like at this show - not great (for me I just did not love the drum sounds, and thought the guitars could be louder) but really very good. I think it is a matter of preference then, because some people might really like the way this show sounds coming out of the main PA system. • FM Broadcast 9.2 - Even though this is a broadcast, it retains a "rough" mix quality to it which suits the band's sound and style. The recording quality is fantastic, it does not have a lifeless feel but rather an obvious impromptu feel as you can tell by the stage feedback as the mix gets dialed in. • Audience 9.3 - A great, very lively and sharp recording. I love the mix here too, drums are prominent without being boomy, guitars are complimentary and tuneful. • Audience 8.8 - Very exciting club shows recorded in a way that makes you wonder if the band themselves did not have it done. • Audience 8.8 - This came as a total surprise as I never knew it existed…and man, I gotta tell ya this is f’kin AWESOME!  This is a band that is crucial to the burgeoning British punk movement but they owe more to the MC5 than the Sex Pistols. This one off show features the band going under the moniker The Doomed because they have a certain Lemmy Kilmister on bass. What a high energy, totally wild and crazy fun gig too! Good sound quality, thankfully!  Great setlist with a nice handful of covers that highlight their influences (they even do Silver Machine from Hawkwind!). • Seattle 1970 FM Broadcast 9.4 - So good to have clear and vibrant live Doors recordings…there’s just not enough of them out there. Detroit 1970 FM Broadcast 9.2 - Nice, clean, concise and this is how I want to hear The Doors. There’s so much subtlety and intrigue and you need to be able to hear everything clearly…and with this tape you do.
