Audience 9.3 – This is what I would call a definitive release in that I think if you wanted to know what Sabbath was in ’87 you can use this as a reference. For one thing, it sounds great – and another reason is because it sounds like the band is doing what it had in mind with the line-up and sound. A new direction maybe, but in the same way that maybe Technical Ecstasy was also a new direction. It’s still Sabbath, the bone structure is all there, but the smile has changed…and it has a place in the discography.
