Audience 8.7 – This is a really good, but flawed, recording. The good points are that it is clear, and has unmistakable stereo panning, and a LOT of good live atmosphere (not the obnoxious audience kind of atmosphere!). The flaws are that taper is working hard (to his credit) to get into a sweet spot and while doing this the signal to his deck fades in and out slightly – the effect is one of phasing, so it’s not a deal-breaker flaw it’s just you have to accept that vocals and what not at times sound really far back and then sound much closer…at various points during the show (I should say guitar does this too, maybe less often). The reason why you’ll stick it out is because when it is good…it’s great.
