Audience 8.5 – The thing with this tape is that it’s great on both ends…but in the middle it is kind of undefined. The sound begins to gell and battle itself for presence right in the middle frequency, but at the same time, when the frenzied battles end, like during quieter passages for instance, the sound is right in the pocket. It’s like the equipment wasn’t ready for the volume, but it still captures the sound in a pleasing to the ear frequency so you aren’t put off by the mix, you just strain a little to make out the details. And, the details are important in this line up because the twin guitar work at times is spectacular. I am critical of the mix for that reason, I want to hear every lick – but overall the consensus here is that this is a tape not to be missed.
