PRINCE – Lakeland & Columbia 1980 (2CD)

Lakeland 1980 Soundboard 9.3 – So it’s the early 1980’s and I have to be honest but I would not have given Prince a chance. But, listening to these recordings today I hear real drums, crunchy guitars with an almost psychedelic tone, and confident rhythm section all belting out some decent funk and pop (although I don’t quite hear the precedent to superstardom). Interesting in hindsight.

Columbia 1980 Soundboard 9.3 – Early period Prince already showing so much confidence on the live stage. Excellent sound!
