Audience 8.8 – A tape that does NOT suffer at all from narrowness as it is truly wide open and atmospheric… but at the expense of separation of instruments. Does that mean it is bad or not worth hearing? Hell no – this is a VERY GOOD tape recording, I think for myself I always want to hear distinct bass notes because I am such a big fan of Chris Squire, and here he is mainly the “bottom” for the sound, and occasionally you get to hear his notes ring out and float above the sound but not always. I am spoiled though, because not all tapes are going to be Cleveland ’78! However, since this is a 1980 show, I think it is one to get as I find this period of the band extremely interesting to listen to especially live. Good stuff!
