Audience 8.0 - This is an explosive sounding document, thrilling actually. Sounds like it’s right in front of PA on Johnny’s side, but does not distort. So cool!

Soundboard 9.6 - Smoking hot a MUST have!

Soundboard 8.7 - This is a pro recording but what hurts it is the upper end frequencies, they seem a bit shrill to me. Now, the good news is that you can EQ this and since the highs are so present, you won’t lose them with any EQ’ing. So I think this tape is a sound engineer’s dream.

Audience 7.4 - 7.7 - Varies because most of the show is pretty decent coming from a master cassette tape, but towards the end it decreases just a little bit and makes me think taper had to relocate or something. I believe this show was recorded a little later than the official live album recordings.

Audience 8.5 - A good and clear tape that stays pretty much in the center channel, without a bunch of dynamics but also no distractions either. It’s a solid capture of a great period for Johnny Winter.

Pro 8.8 - Recorded for TV broadcast, this is really great stuff with only perhaps the age of the tape coming into play, but not in any kind of annoying way, just maybe a bit of tape noise in the background. All in all it’s really quite good.

Audience 8.7 - Starts off a little rough but gets better and better (audience clapping notwithstanding).

Aud 8.3 - Surprisingly clear, at full volume there’s maybe some crowding as drums fight for attention in the mix, but basically what you have here is a great idea of what an early 70’s GG concert would have sounded like. Realistic, and the band is just so good, more rocking and less quirky maybe.

Audience 8.8 - Strong and clear with good atmosphere. Be sure to check out BAD COMPANY also at the Providence Civic Center on April 13, 1976 if you want the complete nights performance, as KANSAS opened up for BAD COMPANY .... and what an exciting night it was!  

Audience 7.0 - Decent Audience, a little thin maybe but I rate it 7.0 as it is clear and not distorted and there's some headroom for EQ and boost. It sounds un-mastered to me, but low generation or master tape sourced.

Audience 8.3 - This recording is clear, but does have low recording levels so turn the volume up on this one.

Audience 8.6 - Fantastic audience recording, feels like you are right there! My favorite kind of live tape, a solid 8.6 in sound, atmosphere, energy. More like this please!

Audience 7.8 - Sounds like every bands cassette rehearsals. Clear enough to enjoy.

Audience 9.1 - Exciting and wonderfully clear!

Audience 7.5 - Could be a low generation tape for this source. Some minor phasing issues but pretty clear though; Band is in fine form.

Audience 7.5 - This sounds a lot better than the old cassette I had for decades. Not nearly as distorted as I remember it being. This is actually not that bad.
